Sue
Sheehy, an avid tennis player, was frustrated with the cumbersome,
oversized sport bags, which daunted her 5’3” frame.
She strove to create a stylish, functional tennis bag that did not
require two people to carry.
The
challenge was to create a bag that looked more like a handbag and
less like a sport bag. The trick was to offer plenty of room for
a tennis player’s gear, while making the bag beautiful and
unique.
Sue
put her practical nature to the test when setting out to design
a comfortable, lightweight bag, which held everything from racquets
to shoes to cell phones. Consulting with several high fashion designers,
Sue combined unique fabrics, textures and colors to create a fashionable
looking bag yet still functional.
Excited
by the first samples, Sue took the bag to local tennis shops, retail
stores and women tennis players through out New England to get much
valued feed back. The enthusiasm and willingness of friends and
strangers to be a part of this venture spurred Sue to design the
perfect tennis bag, which has now become the “It” bag
of tennis.
Together,
many samples and sleepless nights later,
the ‘Sushe™' tennis line is launched.
Sue
and her Sushe™ bags have been highlighted in a number of recent
publications.
